Handling your snails

Handling is very serious. If you are not careful you can kill your snail in seconds!
Thing you need to do before you touch the snail
- Wash your hands
- After that dry them
- Get your snail(s) out of his/their habitat
- Spray your hand with spring water or water that has been sitting for 24 hours or more
- Don't use tap water - It haves chlorine which is dangerous for you snails
Ways how to pick your snail up
1. Pick it up by it shell (only adult snails)
Don't do it...
- Fast
- Hard
Do it...
- Slow
- carefully
- gently
- smooth
2. Let him/them climb up on... (All snail age category)
- Leaf
- Lettuce
- Stick
- Bark
- or other safe food/things
How to handle the snail after you pick him up
Make sure that...
- Your hand is damp
- Let him climb all over your hand (try to not disturb the snail)
